6.0 earthquake hits Tohoku region of Japan

An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 hit northeastern Japanese region of Tohoku on Wednesday, according to the regional meteorological observatory.

No casualties have been reported and no tsunami warning was issued by the Sendai District Meteorological Observatory.

The earthquake struck at 8.58 am, 320-km northeast of Tokyo at a depth of 30-km.
