8,760 appear in NET

As many as 8,760 students appeared for the national eligibility test (NET) in Hisar on Sunday.

As many as 8,760 students appeared for the national eligibility test (NET) in Hisar on Sunday.

The University Grants Commission examination was conducted by Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST) at 26 centres.

As many as 10,186 candidates had to appear in the test, of which only 8,760 turned up. The university had appointed an observer in every centre.

Varsity registrar RS Jaglan said that no case of unfair means was reported from any of the centres. The NET was conducted in Hisar for the first time.

Students from Rajasthan also appeared in the test.
