9 injured in militant attacks

In a series of attacks in quick succesion millitants struck security personnel at least in three places in Sopore town, some 45 km from summer capital Srinagar killing a policeman and injuring eight others including four civilains. The policeman has been identified as hulam Hassan, a member of special operation group.

Security forces finally cordoned the militants in a house in the town and an encounter was on. All the attacks happened within a radius of about 500 metres and within two hours. There was confusion about the sequence of attacks.
