Rajeev Masand, in How to win an Oscar (The Big Story, March 7), has divided six-points from an article on a website into ten for his write-up. He has even cited the same examples as in the ‘original’. While we all know how Indian movie-makers get ‘inspired’ by others, it is astonishing — and disappointing — that film critics are following suit. This is the second instance after another renowned film critic was found plagiarising Roger Ebert’s reviews. In the day and age of the internet, critics should realise it’s not easy to deceive people.
