Talking to newsmen here on Friday, Singh said that the RLD would enter into poll pact with any party after assessing the prevailing situation in the State. Earlier, the RLD chief had a meeting with the State unit office-bearers and MLAs to review the situation. Singh directed the State organisation to identify at least 100 assembly seats in Bundelkhand, east and central UP from where the party could field in candidates.

Even though the Samajwadi Party (SP) has been making desperate attempt to keep him in good humour, Singh has already started exercise to find an alternative. The RLD, which has been desperately trying to widen its base, had won only 15 assembly seats in the last assembly election from western UP. It will certainly be difficult for the SP to surrender 100 seats to the RLD in Bundelkhand, east and central UP.
