"This line will come up on the public private partnership (PPP) model," said DMRC chief E. Sreedharan recently.

At present, the only fast link for Gurgaon with the IGI airport is the Gurgaon Expressway.

Sreedharan said, "On the request of the Haryana Government, we are about to start a physical survey for the proposed hi-speed Metro Link between IGI Airport and Gurgaon. This line will connect Dwarka Metro station in Sector 21 and probably the IFFCO Chowk on Gurgaon Expressway. It would be an extension of the Airport Express Metro Line connecting IGI airport with Rajiv Chowk Metro station. It will be about seven-eight km long."

The DMRC chief said the project's funding will be on the lines of the model adopted for the under-construction Airport Express Line.

According to the DMRC chief, though it would be too early to comment on the length of the project, but it should be around seven-eight km long.
