In a major breakthrough, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recovered a watch, bangles and some bones suspected to belong to missing nurse Bhanwari Devi from a canal near Jaloda village, around 100 km from Jodhpur.

The items and human remains have been sent to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in New Delhi’s for further examination.

The CBI is expecting to get more evidence to aid in its probe as 30 divers of the police and paramilitary forces continued to search the Rajiv Gandhi Canal for the fourth day on Saturday.

Two country-made pistols and a wooden bat were recovered on Friday. The Rajasthan government has stopped water supply to the canal to help the CBI locate the remains of the nurse.

The agency sleuths are also examining soil samples from the spot near the canal for evidences.

According to the CBI, sacked minister Mahipal Maderna and Congress legislator Malkhan Singh Bishnoi were hand-in-glove in the entire conspiracy. Bhanwari Devi allegedly had in her possession two sex CDs and was using it to blackmail both of them.

Bishna Ram Bishnoi was arrested from Lonawala near Pune after a tip off on Wednesday and is currently on CBI remand till January 16. He was taken to the canal on Saturday. Another accused, Kailash Jakhar, was also taken to the canal on Friday.

Meanwhile, CBI sources confirmed that Bishna Ram Bishnoi had confessed to his role in the disposition of the body. Sources revealed that he did it at the behest of both Malkhan Singh Bishnoi, MLA from Luni, and Mahipal Maderna, former Rajasthan minister.
