BJP president Amit Shah on Friday laid down the blueprint for the party’s strategy to conquer Bihar in the assembly elections scheduled later this year, with special focus on getting the basics right.
He emphasised on booth-level workers reaching out to voters directly to boost the party’s membership drive within a set timeframe.
Addressing party workers at SK Memorial hall, he said the target of taking BJP membership to 75 lakh in Bihar by March 31 rested on them.
Shah added that the Narendra Modi-led government is doing well, but needs organisational support. “Under Modi, BJP has resolved to be the largest political party in the world. If that happens, nobody would be able to dislodge it from power. And those who can make it happen are our workers. We should make 2015 a year of resolve to achieve the target,” he said.
Later in the day, Shah held a rally of largely extremely backward caste (EBC) people, organised on the occasion of the birth anniversary of EBC icon former Bihar CM Karpoori Thakur.

{{/usCountry}}Challenging the ruling party, Shah said, “The writing on the wall is loud and clear: The BJP will win over 185 seats and form its government.”
He also attacked the RJD-JD(U)’s proposed merger. “The situation was bound to deteriorate further as Kumar has joined hands with Lalu Prasad, against whom he fought and won two elections in alliance with the BJP on the promise of ending ‘jungle raj”, Shah said.
However, Shah never referred once to Manjhi during his hour-long speech.
Shah said with the ambition to become the chief minister again, Kumar had sought refuge in Lalu Prasad. “But we will checkmate his ambition and save Bihar from jungle raj again”, he declared.
