Addressing a Samajwadi Party Legislature Party (SPLP) meeting here, Yadav said instructions were issued to officers to quickly look into problems of MLAs.

The MLAs were annoyed with officials’ apathy in the districts and told the chief minister that these functionaries had become stumbling blocks in the developmental process. Yadav said action would be taken against erring officers in this connection.

Most of the MLAs told the chief minister that shortage of power, drinking water and bad roads had created a serious situation and these problems should be solved on priority. The chief minister, in turn, told them to popularise the programmes and policies of the government. He had summoned the MLAs on the eve of a crucial meeting of the State Assembly on March 8. The House will take up the annual budget for discussion. The chief minister directed the MLAs to be in the House.

He said though the Congress, the BSP and the BJP had joined hands to create trouble for the government, the SP was strong enough to tackle them single-handedly.
