News is that you have vowed to quit lip-locking scenes on-screen?
This is true that I have pledged that in any of my forthcoming films I will not give a lip kiss. I am not comfortable doing that. I belong to a traditional family and my values do not allow me to indulge in such acts.
Where were your values when you did films like Paap, Zeher and Aksar?
Look, when I entered tinsel town, I was not aware of so many things. I was not ready for that kind of intimate roles but since I was new somehow I managed and prepared myself for it. Later on, I realized that what I did was not something my values allow me to do.
So it took three films to awaken you conscience that lip kissing is immoral?
No, in fact when I was doing I had told the director Anant Mahadevan that I would not be ready for smooch and he had agreed to my terms also but when we were shooting in London, he suddenly pressurised me saying that a kiss scene is important for the film. Just for the sake of the character I had to give in. I was fortunate that I had Emraan Hashmi against me whom I had become quite familiar with by then.
What if there had been any other actor in place of Emraan? Would you have refused to do the scene?
I can kiss only Emraan comfortably. If I had to do a kissing shot with any other actor, I would have literally cried.
