Unavailability of mid-day meal

DISTRICT MAGISTRATE Amrit Abhijat has decided to take action against officials responsible for poor arrangement of mid-day meal in schools following complaints of unavailability of the meal in 300 schools in the district.
The DM held a meeting with the assistant basic shiksha adhikaris (ABSAs), officials from the Education department, Panchayati Raj department and district level officials connected with Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan here on Tuesday.
Chief Development Officer Bhavnath Singh informed the DM that the students were not being served midday meal in around 300 schools. The DM warned the BSA and directed him to look into the matter. The DM suspended ABSA Jasra BK Gaur for negligence in duty on the complaint of the BSA.
The DM also reviewed the progress of construction of a multi-purpose hall and said that stern action would be initiated against ABSA for any discrepancy in the work. He ordered the officials to ensure that all hand pumps in the schools were working.
The DM expressed serious concern over poor tree plantation and said that it was the duty of everyone to increase the green cover through tree plantation. He also directed for digital photography of school buildings constructed in 2005-06.
