Eminent sculptor Sankho Chaudhuri is dead

Chaudhuri, whose wife Ira is also an eminent ceramic sculptor, was ailing for over a month and a half.

Eminent sculptor and former Lalit Kala Akademi Chairman Sankho Chaudhuri died in New Delhi on Monday. He was 90.

Chaudhuri, whose wife Ira is also an eminent ceramic sculptor, was ailing for over a month and a half. The end came at Metro Hospital in East of Kailash on Monday afternoon, a spokesman for Lalit Kala Akademi said.

The cremation would be held at Nigambodh Ghat at 10.00 am on Tuesday.
