BA FINAL (Sociology) students of Barkatullah University who appeared for Paper I today were in for a shock when they got Paper I that contained all questions of Paper II. The paper I, for which some 5,000 students appeared from 65 examination centres of the BU in eight districts, was later cancelled, but not before chaotic scenes at the centres.
The university office was flooded with telephone calls from the exam centres, forcing the BU authorities to immediately check the mix-up and later cancel the examination. Later in evening, the BU came out with a formal notification announcing that the Paper I of BA Final Sociology was cancelled because of some ‘errors’. The fresh date of examination is to be announced later.
The examinations of BA Final Sociology were to commence today in the afternoon session (3.00 to 6.00 pm) with Paper – ‘Basis of Sociological Thoughts’.
However, when the students were distributed the question paper, they found that though the heading mentioned paper I – the title was that of Paper II — that is `Social Research Methodd’ and all questions belonged to that paper. Upon this, all hell broke lose and the matter was reported to the centre heads who, in turn, got back to the university. The students were
later informed about the cancellation of the exam.
The students, are now worried about the fate of Paper II scheduled for March 18 as the question paper today included questions of that paper. The university sources said conducting exam for the paper would not be a problem as a separate set of question paper was available for that. However, the vice-chancellor would reportedly take the final decision on the matter soon.

{{/usCountry}}B COM II EXAM ALSO CANCELLED: Meanwhile, the exam of B Com II (Advertising) of March 10, during which the students got out of course question paper, has also been cancelled by the university. The students had got question paper of B Com Part I in place of Part II. The fresh date of this exam too would be announced later.
THREE CHEATING CASES: The BU flying squads today caught three cases of use of unfair means – two at Betul and one at Gairatganj.
