Chairman of Akhil Bhartiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal, Ajay Sarpotdar, died in a city hospital today after a prolonged illness, family sources said.

Chairman of Akhil Bhartiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal, Ajay Sarpotdar, died in a city hospital today after a prolonged illness, family sources said. He was 51.

Sarpotdar, himself a filmmaker, had produced many documenteries and was also associated with film distrubition. He had also directed a film titled 'Painjan'. As the chairman of the apex body of Marathi film makers, he had facilitated substantial financial assistance at government level for the movie producers.
