An Indian national travelling on board an Oman Air flight to Muscat was offloaded at the Mumbai airport for showing ‘disruptive behaviour’, sources said on Friday.
According to airport sources, the crew of Flight WY204 asked the passenger to wear his seat belts as the aircraft was preparing for take-off on Thursday. But the passenger kept insisting that he was more comfortable without wrapping the belt.
Wearing seat belts is mandatory during take-off, touchdown and any mid-air turbulence according to the directorate general of civil aviation (DGCA) air safety rules.
Despite many requests the passenger allegedly turned aggressive prompting the crew to cancel take off and call in the airport security staff.
“The ruckus delayed the flight by an hour and 10 minutes,” a senior Central Industrial Security Force official said.
