For Gen Y, change for the better is the mantra to live by

The India growth story may have left a big chunk of its population poorer, but it hasn't stopped the youth from dreaming big.

The India growth story may have left a big chunk of its population poorer, but it hasn't stopped the youth from dreaming big. Today, the youth wants to have it all – professional success, material comforts, fulfillment in their personal lives, and a bright future to look forward to.

In the last two decades, the parameters of success and happiness have changed drastically; the youth of today has a bucket-list of wants and goals for themselves. Not content with status quo, the young lot is willing to work hard towards their goals, but also want to let their hair down, and lead a good life.

For Gen-X then, change for the better is the mantra to live by. A case in point are the elections that took place early this year, and were won on the plank of development and change, jobs and growth -- a message that struck a chord with the aspirational young electorate. In short, the promise of "acche din" worked for the youth that aspires for the "good times" -- growth, success and happiness , not just for themselves, but also for the country as a whole.
