German engineer found dead

A German engineer working at a private steel manufacturing unit at Meramundali, 50 km from Dhenkanal died in sleep at the company's quarters today, police said.

A German engineer working at a private steel manufacturing unit at Meramundali, 50 km from Dhenkanal died in sleep at the company's quarters today, police said.

The deceased, identified as Schacfter Ralf Heinrich (43), was engaged by the company to look after its hot steel mill unit, police stated.

Heinrich's body was recovered from the quarters by the police and rushed to hospital where doctors declared him dead in sleep. The body was sent for post-mortem.

"We are trying to contact German embassy in order to inform the death of the engineer", Dhenkanal Superintendent of Police Satish Kumar Gajbiye said.
