A leopard entered a Bengaluru school early on Sunday morning and attacked at least six people who were trying to capture it.
The animal entered the campus of the VIBGYOR school in Whitefield around 4 am, CCTV cameras show. It remained undetected until late afternoon when it attacked one of the school staffers.
The incident has once again brought to the fore the man-animal conflict on the outskirts of this rapidly expanding city.
Forest department officials and police were called in to capture the animal.
The leopard had escaped from the school premises during the day and was hiding in nearby bushes.
As authorities were in the middle of operations to capture it, the animal re-entered the school building by scaling a compound wall, officials said.
Video footage also showed a forest officer grappling with the big cat beside a swimming pool.
