India will play an extra One-Day International when it tours Pakistan early next year, reciprocating the Pakistani gesture of agreeing to the additional one-dayer to be played in Ahmedabad on April 12.
"We've agreed to play the additional match under a reciprocal agreement according to which when India tours Pakistan early next year they'll also play six one-day internationals along with three Tests," a PCB official was quoted as saying by a local daily on Monday.
The original agreement between the two cricket boards was to have reciprocal tours of three Tests and five ODIs. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), however, refused to play a Test in Ahmedabad citing security worries.
A compromise deal was reached wherein the Test originally scheduled for the Gujarat city was shifted to Kolkata, and Ahmedabad got an extra one dayer in lieu of the missed Test.
Teams usually charge a fee of over $25,000 for playing an out of schedule one-dayer under the International Cricket Council (ICC) rules, but Pakistan agreed to play without any charges.
"No we are not taking any fees for playing the sixth one-day international next month," the official confirmed.
