Talking to reporters after meeting the victim’s mother, Gehlot pointed out that he wouldn’t elaborate on what action would be taken by the Centre since the Model Code of Conduct is imposed in the state.

Several members of the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday associated themselves with the Kerala student’s barbaric rape and murder issue and demanded strict action against the culprits. BJP’s Tarun Vijay had demanded in the Rajya Sabha that a central team should visit the state.

Meanwhile, Perumbavoor deputy superintendent of police Anil Kumar has been removed from the team investigating the case.

The move came after no progress was made in the investigation. The investigation team currently has 28 people in it, but no arrests have been made yet in this case.
