Lok Sabha elections: 34% winners have declared criminal cases

In a recently published report, National Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms have assessed the affidavits of 541 winners (of the total of 543) in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, coming up with a list of candidates with criminal backgrounds.

In a recently published report, National Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms have assessed the affidavits of 541 winners (of the total of 543) in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, coming up with a list of candidates with criminal backgrounds.

According to the study, 186 (34% of the 543) winners have declared criminal cases against themselves. HT takes a look at the 16th Lok Sabha's crime report.
