As per a government resolution issued recently, an 11-member Haj committee will be set up in each district.

"We have passed an order last week to form a Haj committee in every district of Maharashtra. Through this committee, we want to provide all information to the people who are going on Haj," state minister for minority affairs Mohammed Arif Naseem Khan told PTI in Mumbai on Thursday.

"Every district committee will hold a Haj conference that will educate people on the technicalities that have to be kept in mind while performing Haj," he said.

The people will be guided on the procedure that has to be followed for going to a foreign country, Khan said.

"We want to make sure that the minorities in the state have no problem whatsoever before, during and after performing Haj," he added.

At least one member of the committee should have past experience of Haj pilgrimage, as per the resolution.
