The Moti Mahal Deluxe Tandoori Trail chain managing director was speaking to reporters during his visit to the restaurant at Treasure Island in the City on Monday. After showing around the Indore franchisee of Moti Mahal, Monish said that the new ‘avatar’ of this restaurant is in terms with the changing styles but keeping the taste and quality of food the same as it was in 1947.

Monish’s grandfather and the inventor of Tandoori Chicken and Butter Chicken, Kundan Lal Gujral established the first Moti Mahal restaurant at Delhi in 1947.

The cuisine at the recently-launched new age Moti Mahal Deluxe in the City offers chicken dishes, dal varieties, wraps, Moti Mahal Makhani meals and an equal choice for vegetarian guests. The location of restaurant has changed from stand-alone places to malls due to ready footfall and other facilities. It also provides menu combos for fast-moving corporate crowd and kebab platter at affordable price. The quantity and use of certain spices is changed slightly to suit the taste of Indore, said Monish.

The first Moti Mahal in Delhi pioneered in introducing Mughlai and Tandoori cuisine to the world and gained acclaim from people like late Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, Raj Kapoor, Nargis, the Gandhi family, Arun Jaitley, Renuka Chowdhary and Sheila Dixit among others.

Monish’s next destinations for Moti Mahal are Bangalore and Chennai.
