South Africa fast bowler Andre Nel was under pressure to make his Saturday wedding on time, even though bad light ended play early on the second day of the fourth and final Test against West Indies.
Play was curtailed eight overs before the scheduled close and a jittery Nel, after a brief send-off by his team mates, had just under an hour to get to the church for the ceremony.
"I don't know if he would have landed any balls on the wicket if he had bowled, he was so nervous," Jacques Kallis told reporters after West Indies closed on seven without loss in reply to South Africa's first innings of 604 for six declared.
"He got a beer down his throat very quickly to calm his nerves, and we gave him a good send-off in the dressing room."
Nel had put back his Saturday wedding to fiancee Deanne Weitz by two hours to give himself enough time to make the ceremony after the close of play.
Wedding arrangements had been made 10 months earlier when Nel was on the periphery of the South African squad but he then bowled himself into the heart of the attack, taking 17 wickets at an average of 22.47 in the first three Tests.

South Africa hold an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the series with one game drawn.
