Chinese consul general Ma Zhanwu expressed this during his meeting with Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday evening.

Zhanwu, accompanied by the vice-consul of Chinese Consulate General Wang Xiang, made a courtesy call to Kumar at his official residence, an official release said.

Welcoming the Chinese envoy, the chief minister apprised him about ongoing development works in Bihar and identified sectors like energy and skill development as areas of cooperation, it said.

Zhanwu extended invitation to Kumar to visit China, the release added.

The Chinese envoy had earlier this week called on the Bihar governor Ram Nath Kovind and extended him an invitation to visit China next year.

The Chinese consulate general and the confederation of Indian Industry (CII) had on December 22 held a business forum in Patna to deliberate on prospects of business ties.

He also met Patna University vice-chancellor YC Simhadri on December 21.
