Once he had discovered asteroid 43844, Dr Hammergren revealed that he had known that there was no other name he could give his find.

Now, the asteroid has officially been titled Asteroid Rowling by the International Astronomical Union.

"I hadn't read any of the books until the autumn of 2004. But when I did I was hooked. So I immediately thought of naming the asteroid after JK Rowling," Femalefirst quoted him, as saying.
