"The left-arm seamer is improving from the strain on his right side which he sustained during the Chennai Test and I am confident that he will be fit for selection before the Mumbai Test," physio Andrew Leipus said on Friday.

"In fact, Pathan had felt the strain on the first day of the Chennai Test but insisted on bowling for the rest of the match. I have advised him to take it easy for a couple of days more and then start training gradually," Leipus added.

The Baroda youngster has been asked to concentrate on building his energy first and work out step by step before he regains full fitness.
