Innovation and interaction seem to be the latest buzzword with Sony India. The latest in line to attract Gen Y is VAIO's notebook range, reports Priya Rajendran.

Sony India’s latest attempt to get a hold on the youth market is a trendy new series of laptops in the Vaio range. The Japanese electronics major is banking on the laptop’s looks, its colours and some cool multimedia features to make a dent in a market that is growing at around 30 per cent a year.

Apart from the standard Intel Core Duo processor and Windows Vista OS, the Vaio CR series will also boast of what Sony calls “edgy chic” driven by high-speed multimedia performance and energy-efficient design. As Sony India managing director Marasu Tamagawa puts it, “Just like the car you drive, notebooks are an extension of your personality.”
