Raj Thackeray unveiled Maharashtra Navanirman Sena's (MNS) election manifesto on Thursday focusing on the development of Maharashtra.

MNS had unveiled its campaign slogan and the first look of its development blueprint on Monday.

With the slogan ‘Yes, it’s possible’, the party is attempting a drastic shift from the agitation and controversy-laden politics it has come to be identified with.

MNS sources had said the campaign for the upcoming assembly polls, in which the party has been virtually written off, is likely to revolve around developmental issues and solutions to the state’s problems. Incidentally, this is similar to the pitch adopted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Lok Sabha elections. Sources said the campaign was inspired by the success of the PM’s innovative campaign.

“Our campaign will revolve around hope and positivity,” a senior MNS leader said on the condition of anonymity. He said the party had identified issues plaguing the state and had proposed solutions vetted by experts.

The election is crucial for Thackeray’s party as it tries to prove its relevance and the seatsharing row between its rivals seems to have presented it with an opportunity to bounce back.
