Salem said he loved her deeply and was “deeply hurt and distressed” by statements that she never married him. “…Dignified silence in this private matter would have been most appropriate,” the notice said. Salem said they were married in a Los Angeles mosque.”

He said his anguish and anxiousness were multiplied as he was unable to communicate with Bedi on the “private matter” since he was in Arthur Road jail since 2005.

Bedi has several times said she had known Salem but never married him and that she had not been in contact with him for quite some time.

Salem has also said he had always supported and encouraged Bedi in her acting career and caused no “hindrance or obstacle” in her profession.
