Shikha enters semis of two swimming events

India's Shikha Tandon qualified for the semi-finals in both the 50m backstroke and freestyle events.

India's Shikha Tandon qualified for the semi-finals in both the 50m backstroke and freestyle events, coming fourth in her heats in both races at the swimming competition in the Commonwealth Games.

Shikha clocked 27.28s in the 50m freestyle and was 14th among the qualifiers for the semi-finals. In 50m backstroke she timed 31.52s, and that too was the 14th best among the 16 qualifiers.

Other swimmers Puneet Rana in 50m breaststroke, Rehan Poncha in 400m Individual and Arjun Muralidharan in 100m butterfly were eliminated.

Also eliminated was Kanchanmala Pande in women's 100m EAD (Elite Athletes with a Disability) freestyle event, where she timed 1:36.88s for a fourth place in her heat.
