He was speaking as the key speaker at a training workshop organised jointly under the auspices of the social organisation Asha (a charitable trust) and Right to Information Campaign at Kaithi on Thursday.

“It is first time in the history of country when such type of effective act was pressed into action to sort out the problems of common people,” he said.

This Act would strengthen the democratic set up of country, he added.

Kejariwal said that although the freedom of information were being implemented in 55 different countries but the Right to Information Act, which was implemented in India, was effective and containing punishable provision.

“Since the RTI Act is new and limited in city areas, there should be efforts in a direction to spread the importance and use of RTI Act in rural areas,” he said.

Activists of different institution from districts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh including Bhadohi, Ghazipur, Mirzapur, Chandauli and Varanasi were participated in the training workshop.
