THE STATE government employees under the banner of State Employees’ Confederation staged a demonstration in front of the Vikas Bhawan in Varanasi on Thursday in support of their various demands.
The state employees were demanding implementation of benefits of DA merger into basic salaries since April 2004, implementation of cash encashment besides other 28 demands.
State vice-president of the confederation Arvind Kumar Pandey said the State government was ignoring the interests of employees.
Ending the facilities of encashment and banning relaxation on taxes for the State government employees while purchasing two-wheelers were burning example of State government towards State employees, he added.
Pandey demanded the government to check price hike in essential commodities or extend a financial assistance of Rs 1500 per month to all State government employees.
He warned if the State government did not consider their 30-point demands immediately, the State government employees would give a befitting reply to Samajwadi Party (SP) led State government in the forthcoming Assembly election in Uttar Pradesh.
Pandey said a meeting of different associations related with State government employees would be held in Lucknow on August 28 to chalk out a strategy for future course of agitation against the State government.

{{/usCountry}}More than a dozen State government employees’ associations participated in the demonstration. Prominent among those who participated in the demonstration included, Umesh Rai, Shamsher Bahadur Singh, Dr KK Singh, DN Tiwari, Mahesh Singh, Arvind Kumar Srivastava, Sudhir Kumar, Usha Singh, Gulab Singh, RS Yadav, Adya Prasad Singh and Balram Dey.
