Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker K Kalimuthu on Wednesday resigned from his post.

Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker K Kalimuthu, who is being tipped to be named AIADMK presidium chairman, on Wednesday resigned from his post.

The duties of the office of the Speaker would be performed by Deputy Speaker A Arunachalam.

Kalimuthu is being tipped to be made as the AIADMK presidium chairman at the party's general council meeting to be held on February 4.
