An assistant manager of a tea garden was today shot dead by suspected Adivasi National Liberation Army militants in Assam's Udalguri district, police said.
Four armed youths opened fire at point-blank range at the Gautam Kotoky of Kuramara tea estate under Paneri police station while he was on field duty.

Kotoky was killed on the spot and the militants fled with his motorcycle.
