If Haryana government’s town and country planning department has its way, 1,295 houses across the Millennium City might get their water and sewerage lines disconnected. According to the planning department, owners of these houses haven’t acquired occupation certificates from the department.

The Haryana government has asked all private developers — of townships such as DLF City, Sushant Lok, Palam Vihar, Southcity, Malibu Town, Uppal Southend, Mayfield Garden and Aardee City among others — to disconnect water and sewerage lines to the defaulting houses.

The developers have served notices to the erring house owners in their townships. The house owners have to comply with the orders within eight days of the notices otherwise the developers would be compelled to disconnect the said services.

President of DLF Qutub Enclave RWA, Madan Yadav, termed the orders “autocratic”. He said house owners had applied for occupation certificates, with the department, which kept sitting on their requests for years. “Now all of a sudden the department has ordered to disconnect water and sewerage line.

The HUDA administrator said the decision related to the water and sewerage line disconnection would be taken later.
