JANATA DAL (United) president and former Union Minister Sharad Yadav on Tuesday said the Bihar Government would leave no stone unturned to develop the birthplace of Ustad Bismillah Khan at Dumrao (Bihar).

However, Yadav refused to comment on why the step was not initiated during the shehnai maestro’s lifetime. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had announced on Monday that Dumrao would be developed.
Talking to mediapersons at the Circuit House here on Tuesday, Yadav said the death of ‘Khan Saheb’ signalled the end of an era. He had made the shehnai a musical instrument to reckon with, said Yadav.
Commenting on the political scenario in UP, Yadav said other parties were welcome to join the Janata Dal (United)-Apna Dal alliance. He said the alliance would field its candidates in all constituencies during the assembly election.
About reports of milk being consumed by idols, he said the government should initiate legal action against those spreading superstition. He said no one should be allowed to bog the country down in superstition in the space age. Yadav said while government paid heed to the demands of Dalits and backwards, it had neglected tribals who were being displaced from forests on the pretext of development.
