Victory with a six or four off the last ball

Only in 12 cases of ODI history has a side won the match by striking a four or six off last ball, writes Rajneesh Gupta.

Zimbabwe registered an incredible win over Bangladesh in the third one-dayer of five-match ODI series on August 2. Needing 17 to win off the last over, Zimbabwe romped home when Taylor hit last ball of the match for a massive six over mid-wicket.

This provided only the 12th instance in ODI history when a side achieved a win by hitting a six or four off the last ball of the match. This was only the third instance of a victory with a SIX off the last ball of the match.

Note: Asif Mujtaba hit a six off SR Waugh to tie the match for Pakistan v Australia at Hobart on 10-12-1992.
