Chief minister Virbhadra Singh's wife Pratibha Singh on Sunday refuted all allegations leveled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) against her.

To the BJP's allegation that she had failed to spend the MP fund during her tenure, she said: “I had spent maximum amount of the MP fund to develop 17 segments of the constituency. Rather than creating illusion by generating false propaganda, the BJP should come up with facts.”

Addressing a public meeting at Pirdi Kullu here, she said it was the BJP in the state, which christened centre-sponsored schemes in the name of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's name to gain political mileage.

She alleged that the BJP had stalled all development work in the state during its regime, which was initiated by the previous Congress government.

She said: “The Congress is contesting the elections in the name of development and people have strong faith in the party. People's trust in the BJP was in the recently held Vidhan Sabha elections.”

She said the Congress-led UPA government had started several welfare schemes such as mid-day meal for students, national health scheme and MGNREGA, which had benefited the common man.
