A three-member Congress inquiry committee looking into the Chamunda Devi temple tragedy has blamed the Rajasthan government, district administration and temple trust for the stampede that killed 224 people.

“The administration came into action two hours after the tragedy,” the report said.

In Jodhpur, residents Mohammad Ali Rao and Gajendra Singh filed separate complaints in a local court requesting the judge to direct the police to register a case against Gaj Singh, former ruler of Jodhpur, for not making adequate arrangements to handle the crowd.
