“Pushkar is an important pilgrimage for Hindus. We will develop it as a temple town and provide all facilities so that pilgrims coming here can enjoy their visit.”

Raje was here to lay the foundation stone of water feeder canal to bring rain water to Budha Pushkar Sarovar, about 10 km from here. Later, she also inaugurated newly constructed tehsil building here.

The chief miniter said the government will soon start the project to interlink the state’s rivers to end water shortage.

“Availability of water has remained a problem in the state but now this scenario will soon end,” said Raje. “We have started working on the river linking project and in the next few months the project would be on ground,” she added.

Raje also announced Swachh Rajasthan mission on the lines of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan under the Modi government and urged people to make the state clean.
