  Falling Down Under

  The 2022 Australian hit Colin from Accounts is finally streaming on JioCinema. It’s a romcom that does what Hollywood could never — have a lead pair that are each messy, real and mildly nuts. Fantastic timing, only one bit of nudity (but a key bit) and the sweetest dog. Bonus points for the liberal swearing.

  Celebrating imperfection

  Mismatched S3 is chaotic -- too many loose ends, too many cliffhangers, a love story going nowhere. At least they got Prajakta Koli’s character, Dimple, right. She’s indecisive, impulsive, unsure of where her life is headed. Rohit Saraf’s Rishi, on the other hand, is too good to be true. We’ve stopped forcing women into a good-bad binary. Why do it with men, then?

  Faking a flex

  If you have FOMO about concerts, you’re the right market for Get Your Flex. The Insta-based service sells concert video footage, so customers can pretend that they were at the Maroon 5 gig, or paid ₹30,000 for Dil-Luminati seats. For ₹99, you can get also tagged in a concert video by a cool “friend”, or get a clip that you can repost. Now, if there’s more buzz online than at the venue, you know why.

  Calling out bad language

  Cubbon Reads, a group that meets up every Saturday morning in Bengaluru’s Cubbon Park to read together, recently had their books confiscated and their curators detained because the security staff didn’t want them gathering in large numbers. The books were returned. Maybe the guards could join the group next time, and read the bit about peaceful assembly in the Constitution?

  Calling him Charles. King Charles

  Josh O’Connor is probably going to be the next James Bond. The guy who played Prince Charles in The Crown? The guy from Challengers? We would have never seen it coming. Perhaps it is the year of the hot rodent boyfriend after all.

  Feeling super

  The teaser for the new Superman movie is out. David Corenswet, aka Henry Cavill light, plays the Kryptonian. He looks better as Clark Kent than he does as Superman. This is the best sign of how far we’ve come. We’re cheering for the nerd over the actual superhero!

  Falling for it

  YouTube plans to crack down on videos with clickbait titles and thumbnails in India. Here’s what we want to know: How does one decide? Aren’t all teasers clickbait? Is there a list of salient features? A hack? One trick we should try? Are doctors astounded? Will #4 surprise us? Has the President resigned, again?
