Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath did not distribute laptops as the “Baba CM” does not know how to operate one, Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav said Thursday.

“If the constitution didn’t exist, Yogi ji would have been ringing the bell in some temple,” said at a rally in Siddharth Nagar, adding that “the BJP promised to distribute laptops, but they have not fulfilled the promise because the ‘Baba CM’ does not know to operate one.”
Adityanath continues to be the chief of the Gorakhnath mutt and temple. Free laptops for meritorious students was one of the poll promises of the BJP in UP.
Later in the day, the SP announced it cancelled public meetings by Yadav in Azamgarh on Friday, the last day of campaigning, ‘following a district administration objection pertaining to higher election expenses’.
Azamgarh district magistrate Shivakant Dwivedi termed the allegations of the SP as baseless.
BJP chief Amit Shah, who addressed three rallies in the state on Thursday, said the more the Opposition leaders hurled abuses at Modi, the more the lotus would bloom.
