Kerala CEO confirms bogus voting by CPI-M workers in Kannur
Chief Electoral Officer Tikka Ram Meena on Monday confirmed that bogus voting took place at a polling booth in Kannur district and that three women are guilty of it.
“This happened in the polling booth at Pillathara in Kasargode Lok Sabha constituency (in Kannur district). After detailed examination of the visuals, it has been found that three women voted twice. We have asked the returning officer to register cases against the three under various IPC sections,” Meena told media, adding the police wuld conduct a detailed probe.
“The official documents are now kept in the strong room and after the Election Commission officials give the directions , it will also be checked. Right now the probe will start,” said Meena.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday lauded Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav for fielding dismissed Border Security Force constable Tej Bahadur Yadav against Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi.
The former BSF constable was dismissed in 2017 after he posted a video online complaining about the food served to the troops.
Lauding the SP chief, Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi, “On one hand there is a person who risked his life for the country and lost his job to fight for the rights of jawans, while on the other hand there is this person who fired a jawan who raised his voice and asks votes over martyred soldiers.” Tej Bahadur Yadav will be contesting the Lok Sabha election as a candidate of the grand alliance - Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Samajwadi Party (SP) and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD).

Repolling in one Kerala Lok Sabha constituency
The Election Commission will hold repolling in one booth in Ernakulam Lok Sabha constituency on April 30, EC officials said here Monday.
Repolling at booth number 83 in Kalamassery assembly segment was necessiated after the poll officials failed to clear the mock poll votes from the voting machine before commencing the actual election on April 23, they said.
The repolling will be held at East Kadungallur service cooperative bank auditorium.

SP fields former BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav against PM Modi
Samajwadi Party (SP) on Monday replaced its Varanasi Lok Sabha candidate Shalini Yadav with former BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav, who will face Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the fray, reported news agency ANI.
“Brave soldier Tej Bahadur has got the SP ticket from Varanasi,” the party announced on its official Twitter handle.
Tej Bahadur was already in the fray as an independent candidate from Varanasi parliamentary constituency.
