Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday alleged that the opposition parties were asking people to refrain from going to polling booths in scorching heat as “Modi’s victory is for sure”.
Modi was addressing a rally in Jamua assembly segment in Koderma Lok Sabha seat, where BJP’s candidate and RJD’s former state unit chief Annapurna Devi is pitted against grand alliance nominee and former chief minister Babulal Marandi. Koderma will go to polls on May 6.
Hitting out at opposition parties, he said, “They are spreading message that Modi’s win is for sure, then why to take trouble to go to booths in this sweltering heat.”
“Don’t believe their statements. They are very cunning and clever people. They have done Ph.D in telling lies. Even if you know Modi is winning, you show more enthusiasm and cast your votes because it is your duty,” he said, adding, “It is necessary to cast vote and it is equally necessary that these votes go to Modi.”
Modi also took this opportunity to appeal the voters of nearby Giridih parliamentary constituency, which went into AJSU party’s kitty as part of BJP-AJSU pre-poll alliance.

{{/usCountry}}The prime minister was quick in attracting first time voters by alerting them how the Congress party forced political instability in the country two decades ago and how it is trying to do the same thing now.
He said, “I wanted to alert you about ‘mission mahamilawat’. This means that the oppositions’ alliance backed by the Congress wanted a weak government at the centre so that they can run their shops of corruption.”
Modi also pointed out how Jharkhand too faced political instability for more than a decade and one of its former chief ministers went to jail under charges of corruption.
