The Dhanbad district administration has made arrangements for webcasting, videography and photography at 1,577 polling booths that fall under either vulnerable or hyper sensitive category. The Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat is among the four constituencies in Jharkhand where voting is being held on May 12 in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections.

Dhanbad deputy commissioner-cum-returning officer A Dodde on Saturday said adequate security arrangements have been made at all polling stations of Dhanbad and Giridih parliamentary constituencies.
“Polling parties have been dispatched from three locations including Nirsa, Polytechnic and Bazaar Samiti locations for all six assembly segments of Dhanbad district and by evening all would reach respective polling stations along with police parties. Two EVMs along with VVPAT machines have been provided to each of the 260 sector magistrates as reserves. In case of any emergency, they can be used at polling booths,” said Dodde.

Kishore Kaushal, senior superintendent of police said altogether 26 companies of central forces, 10 companies of state police and adequate number of district police personnel from neighbouring districts have reached Dhanbad and have been stationed at all required locations.
