The city of Taj is playing host to the national convention again as it is considered a lucky venue by party leaders. Former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav is likely to be named as the party’s national president during the meet.

“We will discuss the possibilities of SP being a major player in MP and Rajasthan elections so that it rises to the status of a national party,” said Suman on Tuesday.

“The party has proved itself in UP and now we are looking at a larger picture with Samajwadi Party emerging as a national party,” added Suman who has also been a three-time MP from Firozabad constituency in the past.

“The BJP regime in UP has failed to deliver. Masses are fed up with them in six months. People of UP have already started recalling the positive aspects of SP regime’s governance,” stated Suman.

He revealed that political and economic proposals would be taken up during the SP’s executive meet here on Wednesday evening in the presence of Akhilesh Yadav.

Yadav will address the media in Agra on Wednesday evening and address the national convention after inaugurating it at CTO ground on Thursday.
