Three people died, while eight others were reported serious after consuming alcohol at a party organised by a local Shiv Sena leader at Pangarmal in Ahmednagar district. The party was organised on Monday evening after campaigning for the panchayat samiti polls concluded for the day.

Cops said party workers complained of uneasiness and started vomiting within minutes of consuming alcohol and eating non-vegetarian food. By the time they were rushed to a local hospital, three were reported dead.

The deceased were identified as Popat Awhad, Rajendra Andhale and Dilip Awhad.
