A 50-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping and assaulting his 18-year-old granddaughter in Badlapur on Saturday.
The girl used to live in Rajasthan with her parents but her grandfather brought her to Badlapur a couple of months ago.The police said he made the girl work at an under construction building site.

“She was sleeping in the house on Saturday when he came in, locked the door and raped her,” said a police officer from Badlapur. He also beat her with a stick. “The girl approached the police on Monday and we soon arrested her grandfather,” the police said.
