Mumbai’s first showers brought with them complaints of water-logging at several areas on Friday morning. While civic officials said the problem did not persist for long, people took to Twitter to complain about traffic snarls owing to the inundation.

Currently, traffic is slow-moving at the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road owing to water-logging near Seepz. There are reports of water-logging at the Malad subway and between the Kherwadi and Kalanagar flyovers.
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials said they received complaints from Sahar Road, Andheri (East), Malvani Gate 6 and Jari Mari lane in Malad, Saki Naka, Seepz in Powai, areas near the Reliance office in JVLR and the Srikrishana Nagar, Borivli.
Experts who conducted an audit of the city’s monsoon preparedness for Hindustan Times said several areas of the city were prone to floods during heavy rains.
